Mission Statement
SFCLT is a membership-based organization whose mission is to create permanently affordable, resident-controlled housing for low- to moderate-income people in San Francisco through community ownership of the land.
About This Cause
To accomplish our mission and vision, SFCLT works toward preserving San Francisco's diminishing affordable housing stock by acquiring rental buildings controlled by landlords or corporations and converting them into permanently affordable housing cooperatives. Through this alternative form of homeownership, the existing residents become owners of the building, while SFCLT maintains ownership of the land beneath, preserving the affordability of these homes for years to come.
