People in the Kansas City area are increasingly feeling the effects of diabetes, with thousands of people suffering from the disease locally. Many others have diabetes and don't know it. More than 320,000 people in our metro area are affected by diabetes, and it is estimated that one out of every three children born after 2000 in the United States will be directly affected by diabetes. That is why your American Diabetes Association's KC Metro office is committed to educating the public about how to stop diabetes and support those who have the disease with resources and information.
