Mission Statement
The American Federation of Arts is the leader in traveling exhibitions internationally. A nonprofit organization founded in 1909, the AFA is dedicated to enriching the public’s experience and understanding of the visual arts through organizing and touring art exhibitions for presentation in museums around the world, publishing exhibition catalogues featuring important scholarly research, and developing educational programs.
About This Cause
For over one hundred years, the American Federation of Arts has worked to make great art accessible to everyone. By bringing together and addressing the needs of museums, collectors, artists, and institutions, the AFA has created and circulated over 3,500 exhibitions including many seminal shows that have made significant contributions to the study of art and art history, produced hundreds of publications, and organized numerous conferences, panel discussions, tours, and many more art-related activities.
