Mission Statement

Hearing Health Foundation (HHF)'s mission is to treat, prevent, and cure hearing loss and tinnitus through groundbreaking research and to promote hearing health.

About This Cause

Hearing Health Foundation (HHF) is the largest nonprofit funder of hearing and balance research in the United States. HHF has three scientific research programs:

Emerging Research Grants (ERG) awards seed money to scientists studying hearing and balance disorders including tinnitus, hyperacusis, Auditory Processing Disorder, Ménière's disease and Usher syndrome, along with ways to prevent ototoxicity in cancer treatments.

Hearing Restoration Project (HRP) is an international consortium of top-tier scientists working together to find a biological cure for hearing loss and tinnitus. Their work is rooted in the HHF-funded discoveries that fish and birds can regrow the hair cells in their inner ears once deafened and how this knowledge can be transferred to humans.

Ménière's Disease Grants (MDG) is a program we launched in 2017 focused on advancing our understanding of this inner ear and balance disorder.

HHF also publishes Hearing Health magazine, a free, award-winning consumer resource on hearing loss and related technology, research, and products.
