Mission Statement
Since 1967 thousands of people with epilepsy and their families have received information or have benefited from the comprehensive social and educational services offered by The Epilepsy Foundation of Metropolitan New York.
About This Cause
Services at The Epilepsy Foundation of Metropolitan New York include those most requested by persons with epilepsy to participate as fully as possible in their communities. These include counseling, vocational services and job placement, prevocational and respite services, service coordination, information and referral services, socialization programs and educational presentations. The Foundation also sponsors support groups, community educational presentations and other events throughout the year. All information and training and presentations are free of charge. Other programs are also free of charge or require low cost fees. Fees are based on a sliding scale; Medicaid, Medicare, and some third party insurances are accepted. The Epilepsy Foundation of Metropolitan New York relies upon volunteer Board and Advisory Members to provide oversight, strategic planning, vocational, medical and legal guidance and fundraising activities.
