About This Cause
START Treatment & Recovery Centers (formerly Addiction Treatment and Research Corporation, or ARTC) began treating patients in a single building in Fort Greene, Brooklyn, and is now one of New York State's largest non-hospital providers of health and human services. START has offered medication-assisted treatment programs, counseling, and mental health services to over 40,000 self-referred patients at sites throughout Brooklyn, Manhattan and the Bronx for more than 45 years.
