Mission Statement

The mission of Terence Cardinal Cooke Health Care Center (TCC) is to provide holistic care to frail and vulnerable individuals who cannot fully care for themselves. TCC's organizational goals are three-fold: • Provide a continuum of high-quality services in a compassionate manner; • Maintain a nurturing environment that recognizes and enhances each individual’s potential to live as independently as possible; and • Develop innovative approaches that address the needs of our community.

About This Cause

Located in East Harlem and devoted to serving the most vulnerable, Terence Cardinal Cooke Health Care Center (TCC) provides long-term skilled nursing care for frail elders, subacute rehabilitation for people recovering after hospitalization or surgery, cognitive care for adults with dementia, and specialized care for underserved populations. Founded in 1890 as the Flower Hospital, the building was renamed in memory of Terence Cardinal Cooke in 1984. In 1996, TCC became a member of the Catholic Health Care System (also known as ArchCare).
