Mission Statement
Marquis Studios inspires a passion for learning by bringing the arts into schools. To achieve the highest quality of services, we require ongoing pedagogical training of our teaching artists. By building partnerships between teaching artists and educators, we enable students to reach their full potential. We are making learning a positive experience for every child regardless of income or ability.
About This Cause
Founded in 1977, Marquis Studios has served over 500,000 students, 28,000 teachers and 18,000 parents in schools throughout NYC. As the Kennedy Center VSA NYC affiliate organization, over half of our grant funded programming serves students with disabilities and 80% live below the poverty line. Our staff of 90 fully trained teaching artists provides a full spectrum of multi‐cultural residencies through an average of 580 residencies in 170 schools in all 5 boroughs of NYC annually. Marquis Studios directly serves 40,000 children each year.
