About This Cause
The International Federation is the world’s largest humanitarian organization with 189 member National Societies. We carry out relief operations to assist victims of disasters all over the world, and we contribute to strengthen the capacities of our member National Societies. Each year around 250 million people are affected by disasters and 13 million people die from infectious diseases. Red Cross and Red Crescent programmes reach an estimated 158 million vulnerable people every year. These figures show the extent of our reach and the scale of our operations
