About This Cause

The Bellevue/ NYU Program for Survivors of Torture (PSOT) provides comprehensive care to immigrants- particularly refugees and asylum seekers- who have endured torture and other profound human rights abuses. This interdisciplinary care includes medical, mental health, social and legal services.Since its inception in 1995, PSOT has established an international reputation for excellence in our clinical, educational, research and advocacy activities. PSOT is jointly sponsored by Bellevue Hospital- the nation’s oldest public hospital- and New York University School of Medicine.
