About This Cause
The LaGuardia High School Parents Association ("the PA") was organized in 2001 as a charitable organization under the laws of the State of New York. Its primary goals are (1) to bring parents into an active role into the LaGuardia High School community and (2) to enhance students' overall experience in academic and non-academic activities. Services directed towards the first goal include meetings and other activities that foster communication among constituencies, encourage parent participation and school support, promote parent education, and--in non-pandemic times--provide numerous opportunities for parents to participate at the school. To accomplish the second goal, the PA raises funds for the enhancement of the school’s programs, provides funding for supplemental programs in the performing and cultural arts, athletics, school clubs, and other activities for the benefit of LaGuardia students.
