Mission Statement
The Bike Kitchen is an all-volunteer run bike repair workshop. At the Bike Kitchen, community members get access to specialized tools and help from volunteers so they can learn to fix their own bikes. The workshop is open Tuesday through Thursday evenings and Saturday afternoons. The Bike Kitchen serves women and trans patrons two Friday evenings per month. Classes with a limited enrollment are offered once or twice per month.
About This Cause
The Bike Kitchen teaches people of all ages and backgrounds how to repair bicycles. Through bike repair and bicycle related projects, the Bike Kitchen promotes personal development and provides leadership opportunities. Operating as a cooperative shop, we provide affordable ways to acquire and maintain a bike, encourage reuse and recycling, and work with community groups to get more people on bikes.
