Mission Statement
To ease the suffering of socially and economically vulnerable Armenian communities in the Middle East and Armenia, enabling them to lead healthy, productive lives, and empowering them to achieve economic self-sufficiency.
About This Cause
Established in New York in 1921, the Karagheusian Foundation initially provided relief and education to orphaned children who had survived the Armenian Genocide. In the ensuing decades, as Armenian refugee populations struggled to rebuild their lives in the Middle East and elsewhere, the Foundation significantly broadened its mandate to help strengthen diaspora communities. As of today, the Karagheusian Foundation continues to touch the lives of Armenians in many parts of the world, by providing vital healthcare, educational, social-assistance, vocational, and housing programs, providing emergency relief at the critical times, and supporting schools, orphanages, hospitals, and other community institutions.
