Mission Statement
Stray Haven Humane Society & SPCA is a humane society dedicated to ensuring the protection of animals through education and service. Since 1967, Stray Haven has served Tioga County, NY and neighboring communities, providing shelter and care for homeless animals. Today we continue to offer many services with the generous support of the public, including pet adoptions, spay/neuter programs, dog obedience classes, pet therapy, humane education, children’s outreach programs and rewarding volunteer opportunities.
About This Cause
Stray Haven Humane Society & SPCA is a no-kill humane society dedicated to ensuring the protection of animals through education and service. Stray Haven serves Tioga County, NY and neighboring communities, providing shelter and care for homeless animals. Dog Control officers from Tioga County, NY townships bring stray dogs to Stray Haven for dog holding, care, attempt to reunite with their family and rehoming. Stray Haven accepts owner surrenders of dogs, cats and small pets, as well as stray cats, on a managed intake basis to prevent overcrowding of the shelter and maintain excellent care for all animals entering the facility. Today we continue to offer many services with the generous support of the public, including pet adoptions, spay/neuter programs, dog obedience classes, pet therapy, cruelty investigations in Tioga County, NY, humane education, pet food pantry for families in need, children’s outreach programs and rewarding volunteer opportunities. Community Service may also be completed at Stray Haven. The affordable spay/neuter program provides access for dog and cat owners to have their pets altered, vaccinated and microchipped at low cost.
