Mission Statement
FOR the kids with all the courage. The Children's Hospital of Buffalo Foundation supports the care, programs, education and equipment at John R. Oishei Children's Hospital. Through the generosity of individuals, employees and corporations, the Foundation is able to help John R. Oishei Children's Hospital (OCH) achieve the best possible outcomes for moms, kids and babies in Western New York.
About This Cause
The Children's Hospital of Buffalo Foundation uses donor support to help us with the following priorities: Advancing outcomes by providing the most innovative technology and equipment; recruiting, training and retaining the top medical professionals; developing partnerships with the community to advance the health and well-being of children across the region. Enhancing the patient and family experience by providing services not covered by medical insurance which are critical to the patient/family experience, such as child life, bereavement, art therapy and family support groups. Funding our children's care fund which ensures all children have coverage for their medical care, regardless of the ability to pay. Each year, OCH provides on average, $4 million in “free” care. The Children's Hospital of Buffalo Foundation, formerly Women & Children’s Hospital of Buffalo Foundation, is a 501 (C) (3) tax exempt New York not-for profit corporation operated exclusively for charitable purposes for John R. Oishei Children's Hospital, formerly The Women & Children’s Hospital of Buffalo. The Foundation was established in 1988 to centralize and coordinate the efforts of generating, soliciting and receiving donations, both in-kind and monetary, to benefit and enhance the specialized pediatric and women’s health services provided by the hospital.
