JPI is dedicated to reducing the use of incarceration and involvement in the criminal legal system by promoting fair and effective policies. JPI envisions a society with safe, equitable and healthy communities; just and effective solutions to social problems; and the use of incarceration only as a last resort.
About This Cause
The Justice Policy Institute (JPI) is a national research and policy advocacy organization that partners with communities most affected by crime and the criminal legal system to build better safety solutions. Our mission is to reduce the use of incarceration and involvement in the criminal legal system by promoting fair and effective policies. JPI works to 1) produce forward thinking research and policy recommendations; 2) engage in targeted advocacy to change policies and practice; and 3) elevate the work, voices, and stories of people and their families affected by crime and the criminal legal system.
