About This Cause
Over the last nineteen years, Frankly Music has developed into a strong and vibrant addition to the Milwaukee performing arts landscape because of its unique approach to presenting classical and chamber music. Founded in 2003 by Frank Almond, the former Concertmaster of the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra, and a group of dedicated volunteers, the mission of Frankly Music is to provide world-class chamber music and small orchestral programs for diverse audiences. As Artistic Director, Mr. Almond is responsible for coordinating the music and educational component of each performance. Integrated into each 90-minute performance is 30 minutes of detail about the musicians and composers and the historical, social, and personal influences that inspired the music being presented. This unique educational aspect of the Frankly Music series engages people of all levels of familiarity with classical or chamber music and creates a special atmosphere – slightly less formal than a typical classical event, while still maintaining the highest quality of musicianship. This season, Frankly Music has returned to its complementary post-event reception where guests can mingle with the artists.
