Mission Statement

The mission of Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) of Philadelphia is to train and support community volunteers to advance the welfare of children in foster care through effective advocacy.

About This Cause

Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) is a national association in the United States that supports and promotes court-appointed advocates for abused or neglected children in order to provide children with a safe and healthy environment in permanent homes. CASA volunteers are not lawyers; they are caring citizens appointed by a Family Court judge to represent the best interests of children in foster care. Each CASA volunteer gets to know a foster child and speak on behalf of his/her best interests and wishes. With the personal attention and care of a CASA volunteer advocate, foster children's needs are met and a brighter future begins. CASA of Philadelphia has been providing volunteer advocates for some of Philadelphia's most vulnerable children since 2006.
