Mission Statement
Our mission is to serve the underserved -- the abandoned, orphaned, abused, injured, senior and special needs dogs who have nowhere else to turn and to provide the love and care they never had until a forever home is found.
About This Cause
Founded in January 2004, From the Heart Rescue (FTH) is a life-enhancing rescue dedicated to caring for hurt and frightened victims of accident, disease, cruelty and neglect, by providing the life-saving surgeries, medications and special care that other organizations are unable or unwilling to give. There are many rescues and humane societies which take adoptable animals … but so many times, animals are left behind because they may need extra care (medical or emotional) before they become adoptable. That’s where From The Heart comes in … From The Heart is a group of experienced volunteer rescuers, dedicated to caring for the hurt and frightened victims of accident, disease, cruelty and neglect, or just plain old age. Upon arrival, all animals are given a complete health check-up, including Heartworm-Ehrlichia-Lyme disease tests. Animals found to be ill or injured upon intake, or which become ill while in our care are treated. Utilizing a network of veterinarians, FTH strives to provide the best medical care possible. We provide life-saving surgeries, medications and special care that other organizations are not able or willing to give. Once restored to health, we then work diligently to find each animal a permanent loving home. With unbounded love and an intense dedication to those unwanted by others, FTH works hard to give chances to dogs which other rescues and humane societies do not. Dogs are given individual attention in a loving foster home while recovering physically or emotionally from their previous lives. While we may not place hundreds or thousands of animals a year, each one of the animals with which From The Heart works is ensured of a loving, thoroughly screened forever home, where they will get the second chance they deserve. People often ask why we work so hard to save so few ... the broken legs, the parvo pups, the neglected and abused? Our answer -- if not us, then who?
