Mission Statement
War Child’s mission is to work with war-affected communities to help children reclaim their childhood through access to education, opportunity, and justice. War Child takes an active role in raising public awareness around the impact of war on communities and the shared responsibility to act.
About This Cause
War Child has been empowering children, women, and families to overcome the brutal impact of war and violence for the past 20 years. Using a humanitarian model that is locally driven and sustainable, War Child delivers programs that give children access to education, protect their legal and human rights, and give their families the tools they need to escape poverty. This is accomplished with a long-term focus, 99% local staff, and by investing 92% of every dollar into overseas programming. War Child believes that the impact of war on children is one of the most critical crises facing the world and is outspoken about our shared responsibility to act.
