Mission Statement

Ad Gentes Missionaries help provide oasis of hope in the midst of human misery, loneliness, violence and hunger, which indiscriminately and often disproportionately afflict children, women and the elderly. We are dedicated to the total development of the human being through the liberating gospel teachings of Christ and his church.

About This Cause

Ad Gentes Missionaries is a religious community that consists of professed sisters, brothers and priests serving in rural and inner-city centers, among migrants, and those with limited resources. The Missionary Community was founded in June 2002, in the diocese of Minna, Nigeria by Rev. Vitalis Anyanike, a priest of catholic archdiocese of Omaha Nebraska. We work among Christian minorities in predominantly Islamic areas in Nigeria, Burkina Faso and Cameroun. In recent times, some of our mission centers have experienced extreme violence and displacement of the local villagers. Where government has failed with providing welfare and basic amenities; often it is the religious organization like ours that fills the gap. We have opened our doors to serve these desperate people in extremely difficult conditions. We provide food, shelter, basic healthcare, maternity care services and clean water in our region. In the past, we have received financial support from individual donors, catholic dioceses, and foundations. We have used our resources well to the benefit of local communities. We serve a population of about 20,000 people comprising a diverse ethnic and religious tribe. Our Mission Centers has serves as a stable base for peace and tolerance among the communities. With your funds, we can assure you of a measurable success with access to clean drinking water, health clinic/maternity center and basic elementary education will make a healthy community and good citizens.
