Mission Statement
Spirit of America provides humanitarian and economic assistance in response to needs identified by deployed US troops and diplomats serving in the world’s most challenging places. Our support includes: sewing machines for Afghan women, dirt bikes and metal detectors for Afghan police, veterinary training for African men, job training and tools for Afghan farmers, school supplies for Yemeni children, medicine and winter coats for Tajik children, boots for children who escaped ISIS, school supplies for children in Peru, wheelchairs for disabled citizens in Panama and more. We also connect those courageous Americans to private-sector expertise and know-how, helping develop innovative solutions to the most difficult problems they face. We apply our resources at the intersection of security, humanitarian need and US national interest.
About This Cause
Spirit of America is a non-profit organization: a 501c3 public charity. Our mission is to support the safety and success of US troops and diplomats and the local people and partners they seek to help. Everything we do is in response to needs identified by Americans serving abroad and in support of their difficult missions. We have provided millions in targeted assistance to help US troops and diplomats assist vulnerable local people in more than thirty countries. We've established a groundbreaking model for partnership of a nonprofit organization with the US military. Our support is fast, flexible and decentralized. It makes our troops and diplomats safer and more successful in their missions. It helps them improve security and stability, build goodwill, and increase the well-being of those most at risk of extremism and conflict. And, our support helps local people help themselves. Some see Spirit of America as a way to support our troops and diplomats and help them be safer and more successful in their mission. Others see us as a way to help directly people who have suffered from repression, conflict and war. And others see Spirit of America as a way to improve the position and image of America in the world and advance freedom and peace. We are all those things.
