Mission Statement
The Just Keep Smiling organization is a nonprofit that seeks to assist families with critically ill children. We strive to do so by providing financial aid for immediate needs, offering emotional support based on personal knowledge of a child's serious illness or death and sharing spiritual insight that conveys the solace, grace and strength found in God.
About This Cause
Just Keep Smiling (JKS) assists families with a terminally ill child by paying monthly bills including house payments/rent, car payments, utilities, etc. to alleviate additional anxieties for families traveling a most unwelcomed journey alongside their critically ill child. This financial help relieves the parents of having to choose between going to work in order to pay bills, or spending quality time by their critical child. Without the financial help of JKS, many eligible families in Alabama traveling this journey will not experience financial relief in their monthly bills, but an accumulation of additional stress. They will potentially have utilities cut off, cars repossessed, and basically accrue additional financial debt in order to spend quality time with their critical child. Families in this situation are qualified through social workers who know the decline of the child's health and the need for the parent(s) to be off work and with the child. Bills are paid directly by Just Keep Smiling to the entity whether power company, mortgage company, etc. rather than giving money to families. Giving them true financial relief avoids additional anxieties in an already difficult and devastating journey; giving these families some type of immediate relief in the midst of disaster. Be assured the funds received from this grant will be put to the very best use. JKS continuously raises money to help these families.
