Mission Statement
The purpose of Wishes & More® is to serve children between birth and 19 years who are battling terminal and life-threatening conditions which require ongoing treatment. We not only grant them a wish, we also provide them with a Scholarship of Hope® to be used for higher education. In the event a child does not survive to have a wish fulfilled, we provide the parents with a $1,000 Memorial grant to be used at their discretion.
About This Cause
MISSION STATEMENT: Wishes & More® enhances the life of a child fighting a terminal or life-threatening condition by providing extraordinary experiences... and more... LOCAL AND PROUD OF IT: Wishes & More® is a Minnesota based 501(c)3 children’s charity. We serve children of Minnesota and bordering states and we “fill the gap” for the children and families who may be outside of larger, national organizations. We are made up of seasoned wish granting experts who want to provide a wonderful wish experience to qualified children and their families. Expanded Ages - Serving kids up to age 19 in Minnesota and our bordering states. We believe that every child has a wish, even 18-year-olds that are still in high school and newborns who are considered too young by other organizations to have wishes. We believe babies & toddlers wish to be held, cuddled, kissed and consoled by out-of-town family members. We fulfill that tiny wish by flying in family from anywhere in the country to be with them for this precious time. Ability to grant popular Midwest wishes - Our goal is to provide each individual child with their special individual wish. Midwest kids are raised to love hunting, fishing, camping, snowmobiles, four-wheelers and all sorts of recreational equipment and outdoor activities. Wishes & More completely understands what it’s like to grow up loving the outdoors and frequently grants wishes involving just that. Scholarship of Hope® - In addition to the wish, we present each “wish kid” with a certificate for a Scholarship of Hope®. This is a promise to them that we believe in their future; so much that when they graduate high school and move onto college, we will be there to support them with a $1,000 scholarship. Memorials (A financial gift) - We also stand apart by providing a gift of funds to the parents when a child dies without experiencing a wish. Upon authorized notification, we immediately prepare a check to help them with whatever needs they have whether it be making final arrangements or memorializing their child in some special way. Even More of the “More” - Our relationship doesn’t end with the wish. Our wish and memorial families are truly family and we stay with them as long as they need us – providing unique opportunities to attend sporting events, concerts and other events to help them connect as a family after going through a very trying time.
