Mission Statement
The mission of Camp Spearhead is to create and maintain an environment of understanding and unconditional acceptance for children and adults with special needs. Camp Spearhead is a special needs camp founded in 1968 and located in the foothills of Greenville county SC. Our summer camp season serves 720 campers and our school-year social/recreational program serves nearly 2000 campers.
About This Cause
Camp Spearhead believes everyone deserves a chance to go to camp. Often, people with special needs are overlooked and underserved and Camp Spearhead desires to make a difference in that fact. While we exist to provide a welcoming, safe, nurturing, and fun environment for our campers the benefits of Camp Spearhead reach far beyond just the camper. Our tag line is "More Than Just A Camp." One of the ways we see this played out is the influence our campers have on the lives of our young staff. Because of their Spearhead experience it is not uncommon to see some of our young staff enter the fields of Special Education, Therapeutic Recreation, Healthcare and other related fields of service for people with special needs.
