About This Cause

Volunteer Gardeners Most volunteer gardeners arrive at the Garden on Saturday mornings, to work on scheduled tasks. We often have plants to plant, leaves to rake, compost to spread, etc. There are also opportunities to learn pruning skills and use of Japanese garden tools as well. Our masters will guide you when you arrive. During the operating season, the garden opens at 7:30am until 9:00am for anyone 15 years or older who would like to volunteer. Volunteers under the age of18 requires parent supervision. Please download the volunteer form and bring it to the garden. **During the summer, gardening hours are 6:30am until 8:00am.** Volunteer Docents Volunteer docents will go through a training program to learn about the plants, Japanese culture, Japanese philosophy, and how to give guided tours. Needed on Tuesdays for docent tours and Tea Tours, Saturdays for docent tours, and Chanoyu tea ceremony once a month. Private tours Tuesdays through Fridays. Special Event Volunteers Our events are wonderful and steeped in culture and friendship. From set-up to take-down, and everything in between, we can use your help. There are many tasks to an event, the best part is you will be having a great time while helping out! Office Volunteers All skill levels are welcome to join us in the office.
