We envision a world where all girls and women realize their right to health and well-being. Our mission of activating a people-led movement for reproductive, maternal and newborn health and rights accelerates progress by putting citizens at the center of global, national and local efforts.
About This Cause
When women are healthy so are their children, families, communities, and countries. WRA understands the synergy between sexual, reproductive, maternal, newborn, child and adolescent health policies and services and implements holistic solutions. Our approach of educating people about their health and rights, then equipping them to lead change in their own communities, is effective and creates lasting change for generations to come. We have made progress. Deaths are down by half since 1990 and maternal health is on the global policy agenda like never before. Our cost-effective model shows that a small investment in a few staff, as opposed to delivering services, has incredibly powerful results. Our work has successfully persuaded governments to increase the number of midwives, the type and quality of health services and increased the number of women accessing services. Through its vast network of Alliances, WRA is activating the global movement for reproductive, maternal and newborn health and rights. Join us!
