To be the focal point of societal integration for immigrants, refugees, and low-income individuals to help improve the quality of life through education, training, supportive services, and self-development opportunities while increasing awareness of the diverse cultures and heritage.
About This Cause
ETSS (Ethiopian Tewahedo Social Services) is a community-centered charity dedicated to empowering and supporting refugees, immigrants, and underserved communities across Central Ohio. Founded in 2000 with a mission inspired by the Ethiopian concept of “Tewahedo,” meaning "All Humanity is One," ETSS provides holistic, culturally informed services to uplift individuals and families from over 89 countries. ETSS offers essential programs that span resettlement services, youth education, workforce training, and health and wellness initiatives, helping newcomers build self-sufficiency and navigate complex social systems. Our After-School and Summer Youth Programs provide enriching educational experiences for young English Language Learners, while adult services focus on language acquisition, employability training, and job placement, fostering pathways to independence and resilience. Our resettlement team assists families with safe housing, healthcare access, and transportation solutions, ensuring a smooth transition to life in the U.S. For adults, our Community Health Worker program builds health awareness, and our advocacy initiatives empower families to exercise their voices in civic life. Driven by compassion, inclusivity, and a commitment to community, ETSS is more than a service provider; we are a trusted partner in the journey toward stability and opportunity.
