To fight food insecurity by addressing the root causes of hunger and poverty in our community.
About This Cause
The Livingston Food Resource Center's goal is to address not only immediate food needs, but also underlying factors that contribute to food insecurity and social inequalities by developing sustainable solutions and providing holistic support that serves the well-being of the entire individual. Providing food does not solve food insecurity, nor does it solve the root causes of cyclical individual and community social health inequalities. In order to truly transform our community, LFRC aims to develop sustainable solutions and provide holistic support. Our programs promote transformational, systemic change by alleviating food disparities often caused by intersecting issues such as lack of housing, unemployment, and poverty. Our approach empowers community members, fosters economic development, invests in improving health outcomes, and supports local producers.
