Mission Statement
A Family for Every Child's mission is to ensure every child and youth has equitable access to a safe, stable, and affirming home through community-based supportive services. The Agency's vision is that children, youth, and young adults have reasonable and consistent access to basic needs, affordable housing, affirming care, community connections, and opportunities.
About This Cause
A Family for Every Child (AFFEC) is a 501(c)3 non-profit agency centering the needs of Oregon's highest acuity children and youth. The Agency was founded in 2016 in the garage of a community member passionately promoting the needs of children and youth most likely to age out of foster care. Current services include foster care adoption, post-adoption support, mental health care, Host Homes for unhoused youth, basic needs and barrier removal, educational re-engagement and attainment, workforce readiness, and paid work experiences for youth furthest from opportunity. The Agency leverages over 300 volunteers annually and partners with local high schools and universities to engage the community in program development and problem-solving. Youth voice and youth choice are central to the Agency's approach to program development and service delivery. AFFEC excels at building partnerships between youth, families, community members, and for-profit and non-profit agencies to build and maintain the strong social safety networks our youth need to develop self-efficacy, self-esteem, and leadership skills required to thrive in adulthood.
