Mission Statement
The mission of Golf Fore the Kids is to promote research to find a cure for childhood cancer; increase public awareness about the severity and prevalence of childhood cancer; and provide various forms of assistance to children diagnosed with cancer to lessen the emotional and financial impact of treatment on them and their families.
About This Cause
Golf Fore the Kids collects donations related to an annual golf tournament fundraiser. Donations are primarily solicited via mail, email and door-to-door visits to individuals, small companies and corporations. Contributions are received in the form of tournament sponsors, golfers and in-kind donors. Tournament sponsors and in-kind donors do not receive any goods or services in exchange for their voluntary contributions. The voluntary contributions made by each golfer is in excess of the value of golf, food and prizes received. A majority of the donations are received prior to the day of the event. The golf tournament includes lunch and a dinner reception for all golfers and guests. A portion of the fees paid by each golfer is used to support the administrative expense of the event (greens fees, food costs, etc.). The net revenue from the event is donated to the Connecticut Children's Medical Center, The Jimmy Fund and the Hole in the Wall Gang Camp. These organizations have a direct impact on the lives of children diagnosed with cancer and their families.
