About This Cause
About Us: ATHLETICS For Education and Success (AFES) is a nonprofit organization committed to making a positive impact on the lives of children and families facing adversity. Since our founding in 2004, we have worked tirelessly to address pressing social issues and provide essential resources and services to those in need. Our Programs: Education Initiatives: We believe that education is the key to unlocking opportunities and breaking the cycle of poverty, crime and dysfunction. Our education initiatives include providing access to quality after school and summer programming, supporting school students with mentors and behavioral support, and offering scholarships and other resources to students in underserved communities. Health and Nutrition Programs: We prioritize the health and well-being of children and families by supporting initiatives that promote access to healthcare, nutritious food, and clean water. Feeding kids after school and in the summer, providing a foodbank for the community and family meal programs. Empowerment and Livelihoods: We empower individuals to create sustainable livelihoods and improve their economic prospects through skills training, vocational education, and entrepreneurship programs, prison reentry programs. By providing training, mentorship, and access to financial resources, we help individuals build self-reliance and create pathways out of poverty.
