About This Cause
The mission of Rock Steady Boxing is to empower people to fight back against Parkinson’s disease. Through an intensive plan of physical exercise delivered in a welcoming, safe and positive environment, our members and caregivers gain confidence and hope knowing Rock Steady Boxing is helping them maximize their potential mentally, emotionally and physically. Vision Statement: (adopted 5/20/13) Rock Steady Boxing (RSB) will be recognized regionally, nationally and globally as the experts and leaders in the field of intensive, non-contact boxing style therapy for people diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease (PD). RSB has developed and validated a proprietary system of neuroprotective exercise that enables members to maintain their quality of life, not only participating in classes but also through caring and support from members who make up the RSB “community.” It is our plan to see the Rock Steady Method adopted by therapists, gym owners and certified instructors via the “Train the Trainer” weekend boot camps. This will, in time, create a network of affiliate RSB providers and expand the reach of the RSB brand and associated benefits for people with PD. Overall, our goal is to make the RSB program accessible to everyone living with PD, and to empower people to fight back against Parkinson’s.
