Truth Of Life Ministries, Inc. (TOLM) is a faith-based, community-centered nonprofit organization that has been a beacon of hope in Philadelphia since December 2004. Truth of Life Ministries, Inc. We are dedicated to uplifting, educating, and empowering individuals and families through transformative programs that address financial literacy, workforce development, entrepreneurial training, and holistic support services. Grounded in the mission of healing, empowerment, and transformation, TOLM serves the most vulnerable populations by providing mental health counseling, traumatic brain injury (TBI) coaching, wellness education, and housing solutions for the homeless. Which will prepare young people for financial independence, provide pathways to meaningful careers, and support aspiring entrepreneurs in building sustainable businesses. This funding will enable us to serve 9,500 individuals annually through education, career readiness, business mentorship, technical training, and essential support services such as food assistance, shelter, and chronic illness prevention. We are seeking a $875,000 startup business grant to expand our ability to serve approximately 9,500 unique individuals annually through targeted programs addressing mental health, access to nutritious food, fitness, trauma recovery, and permanent housing solutions. The grant will allow us to purchase a permanent facility, enhance outreach efforts, and sustain critical community services. This investment is not just funding a program—it is fueling a movement to uplift lives, restore dignity, and create lasting generational change. We are requesting $875,000 to support the following initiatives: 1. Access to Healthcare Services & Mental Health Counseling • Expand community-based counseling programs with licensed professionals. • Provide trauma-informed care for individuals dealing with grief, anxiety, depression, and life crises. 2. TBI Coaching & Support Groups • Educate and empower TBI survivors, caregivers, families, and medical providers through structured coaching and peer support. 3. General Wellness & Nutrition Access • Provide fresh and nutritious food access for low-income individuals. • Promote fitness programs and chronic disease prevention services. 4. Ending Homelessness & Permanent Housing Solutions • Secure permanent housing solutions for homeless individuals and families. • Offer wraparound services that provide stability and self-sufficiency. 5. General Operating & Capital Support • Purchase a dedicated facility for program expansion. • Invest in technology, administrative support, and workforce development. 1. Readiness: Financial & Career Preparation * Financial literacy & credit education – Preparing individuals for responsible money management. * Career awareness & mentorship – Exposing youth to career paths and professional guidance. * Social & behavioral skill-building – Enhancing emotional intelligence and communication skills. 2. Workforce Development & Christian Academy * PreK-12 Christian Academy (Startup Initiative) – Providing faith-based academic and character development. * Vocational training & job certifications – Equipping individuals with high-demand skills. * Internships, apprenticeships & job placement – Connecting participants with employment opportunities. 3. Small Business Resiliency & Entrepreneurial Training * Entrepreneurial mentorship & education – Teaching business fundamentals and market strategies. * Access to capital & financial resources – Helping small business owners secure funding. * Leadership & technical assistance – Supporting business growth through skill development. 4. Holistic Community Support Services * Food & nutrition programs – Ensuring access to healthy meals for families in need. * Shelter & transitional housing assistance – Providing emergency and long-term housing support. * Health education & preventative care – Addressing chronic illness prevention and wellness.
