Mission Statement

The mission of Faithful Friends is to cultivate mentor relationships that inspire growth, resilience, and hope.

About This Cause

We partner with local churches to find mentors and with schools and community organizations to identify kids ages 6-9 in need of a mentor. We match volunteer individuals, couples and families for a period of at least one year offering extensive training and ongoing support to every match. Nearly 70% of our matches continue into a second year and over 50% into a third. The mentor and mentee matches meet 3-4 times each month, building a trusted friendship though everyday activities like cooking, going to a park or riding bikes. Our goal is early intervention and long-term relationship that shapes the course of a child's life. Of the children we serve: - 86% of kids qualify for free lunch program - 71% of kids live with only one parent/guardian - 35% of kids have one or more parents or guardians who are or have been in prison - 25% of kids have experienced some form of homelessness - 30% of kids are in foster care, have been in foster care, and/or have been adopted - 14% of kids are from immigrant/refugee families
