Blue Planet Foundation is a Honolulu-based 501(c)(3) public charity committed to helping Hawai'i cut its carbon emissions and avoid the worst impacts of climate change. We leverage the power of locally driven policy change and impactful community initiatives to create momentum and inspire change.
About This Cause
Hawaii is home. A history rich in innovation and cultural values rooted in a sense of community make Hawaii the perfect place to show the world what's possible for equitable climate solutions. Although climate change is a global challenge, action happening locally is where lofty goals become reality. Blue Planet Foundation is a Honolulu-based 501(c)(3) public charity committed to helping Hawai'i cut its carbon emissions and avoid the worst impacts of climate change. We leverage the power of locally driven policy change and impactful community initiatives to create momentum and inspire change. Climate science has made clear that we must cut our carbon emissions in half by 2030 to avoid the worst impacts of climate change. We want to help Hawaii get there by transforming the systems that underlie the climate crisis. To reach this goal, we will lean on three strategic pillars: [1] Advancing Bold Policy Pathways - We will research and champion policy solutions the help our state cut its carbon emissions. [2] Tracking and Communication Progress - We will help community and decision-makers stay accountable to our collective goals. [3] Unlocking Brave and Creative Collaborations - We will activate new, unconventional networks to work in systemic, collaborative, and experimental ways.
