Mission Statement
The Orting Food Bank is dedicated to collecting food donations and distributing them to those in need. The Orting Food Bank will also provide referral services as available to help people.
About This Cause
The Orting Food Bank serves the community of Orting, WA, as well as the area of the Orting School District. In 2023 we distributed food to over 750 families a month, in a community of less than 13,000 people. We provide our clients full panty service one visit per month. This includes canned and shelf-stable foods, dry goods, meat, dairy, eggs, household and personal care items, and baby food and baby care items. Clients are invited to visit weekly for fresh produce and bakery items (breads and baked goods.) We provide Weekend Meal Backpacks each week to needy children in the Orting School District. Each backpack contains 2 each of breakfast, lunch, snack, and dinner. The food provided is easy for children to prepare and eat. Without these Weekend Meals, the children would not have adequate food to eat on the weekends. With the meals the children are able to feed themselves and return to school on Monday ready to learn. During the summer school break we administer a Summer Lunch Program open to all children between the ages of 1 - 18 in Orting.
