Mission Statement
Netroots Foundation brings together online citizens across America, injects progressive voices into the national conversation and advances the values of justice, equality and community in our nation’s politics. With technology, the information revolution and online communities changing the very nature of civic engagement, we seek to accelerate the understanding and support of this fundamental shift in participatory democracy.
About This Cause
Netroots Foundation currently has four major programs: New Media Mentors Launched in January 2011, New Media Mentors is an intensive learning and capacity-building opportunity to help progressive non-profits use social media and online organizing tools more effectively. Learn more about the program here. Netroots Nation The tenth annual Netroots Nation conference is July 16-19, 2015 in Phoenix, AZ. Join online organizers, social justice advocates, union workers, organizational leaders, college organizers and other progressive activists for four days of engaging panels, hands-on trainings and more. You’ll make new connections, learn effective organizing techniques, have a chance to share your own best practices and build stronger relationships with others working on the issues you care about. Our full agenda and schedule—including 40 training sessions—will be announced in early April 2015. Learn more about Netroots Nation or reserve your spot here. Pre-conferences @ Netroots Nation Netroots Nation works with various groups to host pre-conference strategy sessions on key issues each year. Previous years have focused on Faith, Labor, LGBT equality, and Women’s equality. These sessions include collaborative workshops, case studies and group discussions, as well as small group times for organizational leaders and bloggers/online activists to network. We believe this format allows ample time for discussing how better alliances can be formed and how activists can improve on both messaging and effectiveness. More information on pre-conference sessions at Netroots Nation 2015 will be announced soon.
