Mission Statement
We are on a mission to connect veterans with under-resourced communities. The Mission Continues empowers veterans to continue their service, and empowers communities with veteran talent, skills and preparedness to generate visible impact.
About This Cause
The Mission Continues operates in 40+ cities nationwide, with veteran volunteers working alongside nonprofit partners and community leaders to solve some of the most challenging issues facing our communities. Through this unique model, veterans build new skills and networks that help them successfully reintegrate to life after the military while making long-term, sustainable transformations in communities. Nationwide, Service Platoons are veteran-led united that engage veteran and non-veteran volunteers together to partner with community organizations and solve a specific challenge in their community. The Mass Deployment Program is a week of high-impact service projects in one city that engages 100+ veterans from across the country alongside hundreds of local community volunteers. The Women Veterans Leadership Program, launched in 2020, connects women veterans to each other and to non-veteran women to maximize their networks and build a community of women veteran leaders in the post 9/11 generation—the highest percentage of women veterans in American history. The Service Leadership Corps is a six-month, community-based leadership program that combines in-person and online learning with real-world applications. This project-based learning gives Corps members both an elevated awareness of and the tools to address challenges in communities and prepares them to serve as Platoon Leaders. We focus the innate spirit of service demonstrated by the men and women of the US military. We mobilize wide-ranging support from volunteers, non-profit organizations and donors. And together we are able to solve some of the most challenging issues facing our communities. Through this unique model that provides reciprocal benefit for the veteran and the local community, veterans volunteer to help others and, through their service, build new skills and networks.
