Mission Statement

Puget Sound Sage charts a path to a living economy in Washington State and the Greater Puget Sound by developing community power to influence, lead, and govern.

About This Cause

At Sage, we envision a people-centered economy where Black, Indigenous and People of Color (BIPOC) workers, families and communities thrive and where we live in sustainable relationship with our land. To achieve this vision, we build community power to create just and equitable housing, climate, and economic policies through organizing, coalition building, policy work, and research. We build power, resources, and collaboration, to create economic justice and climate resilience strategies that are fundamentally grounded in community needs and driven by community leadership. Founded in 2007, Puget Sound Sage has been at the forefront of driving some of the nation’s most dynamic policies for climate, economic, and racial justice. We build leadership to win equitable policies that create transformational change by: - Creating equitable, people-centered climate policies and investing in energy democracy; - Developing new models of community-driven development and land stewardship; - Advocating for the power, dignity, and respect of all workers; and - Building power for communities to shape key policy decisions that shape our homes, neighborhoods, and cities.
