Mission Statement
At the Y, strengthening community is our cause. Every day, the Y works side by side with its neighbors to ensure that everyone, regardless of age, income or background, has the opportunity to learn, grow, and thrive.
About This Cause
Youth Development: We believe the values and skills learned early on are vital building blocks for life. Because of the Y, more young people in neighborhoods around the nation are taking a greater interest in learning and making smarter life choices. At the Y, children and teens learn values and positive behaviors, and can explore their unique talents and interests, helping them realize their potential. That makes for confident kids today and contributing and engaged adults tomorrow. Healthy Living: At the YMCA of Greater Monmouth County, we believe that being healthy involves more than just being physically active. It also means ensuring that your whole being—mind, body and spirit—is healthy and balanced. We offer programs to help you develop a healthy and wholesome outlook through athletic programs, fostering connections with friends through our lifelong learning programs, or bringing your loved ones closer together through our many family-centered activities. Social Responsibility: We believe that acting together with our community, we can make a better world. We are committed to working with and providing support to our neighbors. We also are committed to providing opportunities for kids, adults and families to become healthier and more confident individuals.
