About This Cause
Since 1929, Princeton Nursery School offers a year round preschool program for children aged 2 - 5 years, with a curriculum that is creative, diverse, and stimulating in an environment that is safe and secure, enriched and loving. Our preschool program is affordable for working families, offering a sliding scale tuition, based on family size and income. 96% of the families are receiving a form of scholarship from Princeton Nursery School to attend. If a family qualifies, subsidies are provided through the NJ State Department of Children and Families. The preschool curriculum - High Scope - is based on the belief that chidden lean best through active experience with people, materials, event and ideas. Our teacher, including bilingual staff in each classroom, assists the children in their journey of discovery, providing one on one attention. The program supports each child in developing social and academic self confidence and readiness. Our daily health and wellness program includes a bilingual social worker, hunger prevention program, oral health program, gross motor skill development, and physical fitness activities including yoga, dance and sport activities. A nutritious meal program including breakfast, lunch an snack, cooked daily in our kitchen, is provided to all students. Families participate in our weekly produce and grocery stands and the Send Hunger Packing program. Our community partners include Princeton University PACE Center for Civic Engagement, Princeton Public Library, Mercer Street Friends Food Bank, Arts Council of Princeton and Trinity Counseling.
