The Bergen County SPCA (BCSPCA) is a humane law enforcement agency authorized under state law to investigate and prosecute alleged acts of animal cruelty, abuse, and neglect throughout the County.

About This Cause

The Bergen County SPCA (BCSPCA) is a humane law enforcement agency authorized under state law to investigate and prosecute alleged acts of animal cruelty, abuse, and neglect throughout the County. Located in the northeastern corner of New Jersey, Bergen County covers an area of nearly 250 square miles and is home to over 900,000 residents. Bergen County is part of the New York City Metropolitan Area and is situated directly across the George Washington Bridge from Manhattan. The county is home to 70 municipalities, 3 colleges, 2 universities, 2 state parks, and several interstate highways including Route’s 80 and 95 and the Palisades Interstate Parkway. The BCSPCA receives over 1000 complaints per year, with nearly 300 of those calls requiring a field investigation by an Officer. The men and women of the BCSPCA are dedicated to providing a safe environment for the entire animal population of Bergen County. The BCSPCA works closely with the Bergen County Animal Shelter & Adoption Center in Teterboro, NJ.
