Mission Statement
Mesamche Lev was founded single-handedly by Rabbi Zalmen Ashkenazi of blessed memory over forty years ago to help a few needy families in Israel. Due to the crying need, the organization has grown from year to year and now helps over 11,500 families who are struggling to make ends meet.
About This Cause
Mesamche Lev’s programs reach over 11,500 needy families in Israel, via our massive twice-yearly Holiday Food Distribution before Passover and the High Holidays; our Shoe Distribution allocating 42,000 brand new quality pairs of shoes for children; and our Orphan Bride Fund that helps fund weddings for needy orphans. In addition, Mesamche Lev disburses checks twice yearly to 524 widows in Israel; In the US, Mesamche Lev disburses checks to 220 widows and 100 divorcees, before Passover and the New Year, We also deliver beautiful Mishloach Manot baskets to divorcees and widows in the US for Purim.
