Mission Statement
ARFC helps children and families who are impacted by HIV/AIDS or who have other serious medical conditions to be resilient and to build healthier futures. We do this through transitional care for medically fragile children; supportive housing for individuals and families infected or affected by HIV/AIDS; enrichment programs for children and families; case management and supportive services; and advocacy to ensure optimal policies, funding, and support for the populations we serve.
About This Cause
ARFC carries out its work with a relentless commitment to quality and behaviors that reflect: • Health - We create safe and healthy environments • Family - We strengthen bonds among loved ones • Compassion - We care and our actions reflect empathy and respect • Advocacy - We empower our clients to speak and speak for those without a voice Dedicated to finding family-centered solutions to the problems associated with the AIDS virus, the ARFC provides comprehensive services to underserved communities in NJ where HIV is prevalent. Through this holistic approach to care, affected families are building stronger and more resilient neighborhoods. Since 1985, the ARFC has met the changing needs of individuals and families affected by HIV/AIDS through the following programs: St. Clare’s Social Services, 1990 - ARFC provides social services such as mental health support, medical care, substance-abuse prevention, support groups, and opportunities for families to meet and support each other in the community. There are more than 275 individuals and their families impacted by the services in thie program. St. Clare’s Housing Program, 1993 - Committed to family-based solutions, the ARFC provides supportive housing to people living with the HIV/AIDS, including a transitional program for women re-entering the community. These affordable desirable homes help families provide the stability needed to live healthy lives. ARFC provides supportive housing services to 105 families, and an additional 92 families live in housing provided by the organization. These comprehensive services allow AIDS Resource Foundation for Children to address the many and varied issues related to HIV in underserved communities— fighting stigma, lessening disparities in education and healthcare, and helping families to support their children in a safe stable home.
