Mission Statement
Amnesty International Puget Sound is a subgroup of Amnesty International USA, dedicated to supporting the human rights goals of AIUSA and providing communication and resource support for Puget Sound area AI groups and activists.
About This Cause
Amnesty International Puget Sound (AIPS) operates as a subgroup of Amnesty International (AI), a worldwide human rights organization, within its USA section (AIUSA) and its Western Region. Its ultimate mission mirrors that of the international and section organizations with the added responsibilities directed specifically at the Amnesty International groups and members of the Puget Sound area and extending some services as deemed appropriate to Amnesty activities in the State of Washington and occasionally beyond. AIPS functions in two primary roles: 1) the role of communication and resources support for Puget Sound area AI groups and activists; 2) the role of activist organization with a defined strategic plan for specific human rights and membership goals that complement AIUSA’s and AI’s strategic plans.
