Mission Statement

Founded in 1995, the Institute for Educational Achievement (IEA), is a private, non-profit program for children, adolescents and adults with autism. The educational program at IEA is based upon the science of applied behavior analysis, and as such focuses on student progress as a function of our teaching technology. At IEA, students learn to read and write, to speak, to make friends, to play with toys, and to participate in the world around them. Beyond that, through home-based programming, students learn skills that allow them to complete activities with their families, to complete daily tasks at home, and to participate in typical leisure activities with others.

About This Cause

The Institute for Educational Achievement (IEA) is dedicated to providing effective intervention to students with autism that will make a difference in their lives and in the lives of their families. At IEA, our mission is to enable young people with autism to live in family environments and to avoid institutionalization. We also strive to help individuals with autism acquire skills that facilitate full participation in their homes and communities. And, at IEA, it is our intent to prepare students with autism for enrollment in public school classrooms and/or vocational settings, when appropriate. As a dissemination site of the Princeton Child Development Institute (PCDI), a world leader in research and autism treatment, IEA employs the organizational model and curriculum developed, tested and refined by PCDI for over three decades. Using scientifically developed teaching techniques, and a curriculum that is individually tailored to build upon each individual’s strengths and overcome specific deficits, we teach students the skills necessary to become functioning members of their families and communities.
