Mission Statement
United Way makes change possible by ampliying the power of the individual. What we cannot do alone, we must do together. That allows us to be part of something bigger, something greater. And when we are part of something greater, great things happen. When one of us wins we all win.
About This Cause
The United Way of Mifflin-Juniata, with the leadership of its board of directors, embraces the “issues of the day”, while at the same time, preparing and planning for the future. Change is by no means a “dirty word” in the United Way movement…at least not in our United Way. This is the sheer beauty of the United Way concept of LIVE UNITED. LIVE UNITED means creating opportunities for a better life for all. As a CONVENER, we bring businesses, individuals, governmental agencies, and non-profits together to make good things happen. Most notably is the opening of the Primary Health Network Lewistown Community Health Center – offering health care to the uninsured and under insured in January of 2014. As an INVESTOR, we stretch dollars to invest in our community and make the greatest impact for the benefit of all who live and work here. We LEAD & ADVOCATE, by being at the table when critical issues are discussed to ensure that present and emerging needs are met in our community. We focus on community impact, not just fundraising results. We monitor the progress of our funded programs and work with our non-profit partners to achieve results. Simply put…we say Thank You! Thank you for your donations, for volunteering, and for advocating to strengthen the building blocks of a good quality life: education, financial stability, and health. Thank you for your support, your kindness and love and most especially, thank you on behalf of the thousands of live you are helping to change each and every day.
