The mission of Philip Jaisohn Memorial Foundation is to promote and fulfill Dr. Philip Jaisohn’s ideals of humanity through a broad range of medical and health care, senior employment training, and social services along with educational and cultural programs for the enrichment of the community.

About This Cause

Philip Jaisohn Memorial Foundation was founded in 1975 by eight physicians residing in the Philadelphia area to uphold the spirit of Dr. Philip Jaisohn who was a pioneer, a doctor and an independence activist in both Korea and America. Philip Jaisohn Memorial Foundation was originally created to provide medical services to the newly arriving immigrants but since then, it has become the premier health and human services organization of the Asian American community and strives to strengthen and expand its services while cultivating the next generation of leaders to carry on Dr. Jaisohn’s legacy. Philip Jaisohn Memorial Foundation serves mainly low income and limited English proficient Asian Americans through medical center, home health care, home care, mental health counseling, social services, insurance services, senior employment and community program plus education and leadership development program for the youth. The goal of Philip Jaisohn Memorial Foundation is to keep the community we serve mentally and physically healthy through the myriad of services we provide in various departments as well as the preventive and educational programs like psychoeducational workshops, Wellness Day, Free Flu Shot Day, medical forum, mental health awareness forum, preventive healthcare education, ESL classes and mind and body exercise classes for seniors, plus COVID-19 Vaccine Advocacy and Clinics.
