About This Cause

Crisis Intervention 24 Hour Hotline: Assistance to victims of domestic and sexual violence 24/7. Counseling: Educative, support peer counseling by trained staff & volunteers Emergency Housing: Provide shelter for victims of Domestic Violence and their dependent children Transportation: Provide to & from legal appointments dealing with the crisis, when the victim has no other resources. Legal Advocacy & Accompaniment: Available to victims of Domestic & Sexual Violence. Medical Accompaniment: Victims can request the presence of an advocate at the emergency room or a private doctor's office for the purpose of offering support & guidance during the examination. On-going services Programs to Community: Domestic violence & sexual assault information & prevention; personal safety. Children's Program: Specifically designed to benefit children who are residing in the shelter or who have resided in the shelter facility; parenting skills classes. Support Groups: Empowerment counseling for domestic violence victims meet weekly. Survivors group for adult victims of sexual assault/incest meets weekly. Training: Volunteer training is offered for advocates of domestic violence and sexual assault victims; in-service training for professionals is available Systems Advocacy: ARCC works with police agencies, hospitals, legislators, legal system and social services agencies to advocated on behalf of all victims of domestic and sexual violence. Information and Referral: Directing callers to others resources in the community Crisis intervention services are provided free of charge by ARCC. All services are confidential.
